Accomplishments


Stephen is a partner with Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard and has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in over 200 mediations in Missouri, Illinois, New Mexico, Arizona, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Kansas, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Massachusetts. Stephen has handled hundreds of catastrophic injury cases for both plaintiffs and defendants involving passenger cars, sport utility vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, go-carts, lawnmowers, electrical circuitry, exercise equipment, wheelchairs and many other consumer and industrial products. Stephen has directly counseled, handled, evaluated, or managed over 500 nursing home cases in over 15 states, and has acted as regional and national trial counsel for several nursing home operators. In 1999, the Missouri Bar Foundation awarded Stephen the Lon O. Hocker Memorial Trial Lawyers Award, given to the three lawyers in Missouri under the age of 37 who have shown excellence in the courtroom. Stephen has been included in the 2016 Edition of Best Lawyers In America for his litigation work in Health Care and Insurance. In 2012 and 2013, Stephen was selected for inclusion in Corporate Counsel's Top AV Rated Lawyers Guide to Healthcare.
